Dragon Skin Kokin Akebono Bass Bamboo Flute in low A | Rui Gomes

Please note that small aesthetic differences from the photos may occur due to the irregular nature of bamboo. Nevertheless, I do my best make the flutes looking the same! :)

This is a handcrafted flute made out of Phyllostachys aurea bamboo (~66,5 x 3,8 cm or 26.18 x 1.5 inches).

It has a deep sound with a hybrid scale, a mixture between the japanese Akebono and Kokin-Joshi modes. This is a very soothing and meditative scale, perfectly melodic, making it a great improvisation and meditation instrument. The hole placement makes it easy for anyone with small hands to play.

It is tuned to the key of A3, ideal for meditation sessions. It will play well in 1,5 octaves.

This flute was fire treated and fully carved to mimic dragon scales. The exterior was protected with a mixture of beeswax and sunflower oil and the interior with linseed oil.

Please note that this is a natural piece! It is guaranteed to be crooked, irregular, and have signs of spontaneous wear from growing up with other shoots, also known as poetry! :) Furthermore, the scales are handmade one by one, so I also guarantee irregularities! :)
