Meet Rui, the Maker

 

Rui Gomes is an arts and crafts enthusiast from Northern Portugal.

He started making flutes and other wind instruments in 2013, after attending to different World Music Festivals and having contact with the richness of sounds from a variety of cultures. Since then, he has been on a permanent journey of improvment of his methods for designing, crafting and tuning his instruments. Know more about Rui's journey on this Blog Post!

Rui's shop is based in a small Village in Northern Portugal, Braga District.

Beyond his woodwind instrument making passion, Rui is also a trained Clinical Psychologist and worked in the fields of Affective, Speech and Music Neuroscience Research at Univeristy of Porto.
