This is a Native American Style Fipple flute in the key of Low D, with 5 holes. It is a very intuitive flute to play, and will easily play in the minor pentatonic scale.
Unlike a regular Native American Style flute, this one will have a Fipple attached (made of Macacauba wood, or other reddish exotic woods), therefore making it easier to hold.
Even though it is a big flute, the hand stretching is not too pronounced (although the lower hand fingers might have to stretch a bit)
It was handmade out of Phyllostachys Bamboo, locally harvested by Rui in Northern Portugal.
The bamboo was fire treated and finished with linseed oil and waxed thread.
It is 54 cm in length and 3.5cm in width.
