Low D Transverse Flute in Padauk | Rui Gomes
Low D Transverse Flute in Padauk | Rui Gomes
Introducing my new low D wooden flute! This flute is made in three parts and plays in 2+ octaves. It is made of padauk, a beautiful red hardwood that will darken with age.
The fundamental note is rich and full, with a compressed sound that is not airy. The intonation is precise across the second octave.
The bottom holes (right hand) are close together, making it easy to hold the flute and cover the holes comfortably. You don't need to use a piper's grip, or at least not an aggressive one (for the smaller handed people).
The top cap is removable and made of rosewood.
The flute is 61cm in length.
