This is an exotic sounding transverse flute, resembling the oriental 7th century shakuhachi, but with a transverse embouchure.

It has a rich, complex tone tuned to different deep keys, ideal for meditation sessions. Made out of an adult piece of Phyllostachys bamboo, it will play well in 1,5 octaves. Although this is a relatively deep flute, it is suitable for medium hands, as the spacing between the holes is balanced. It has 4 holes, and the octave is reached by blowing harder. All the holes have 9-10 mm in diameter.

This flute was lightly fire treated and the interior was protected with almonds oil and the exterior with beeswax.

Depending on the design, it also has bindings made with waxed thread.
